Build EGit repository outside Eclipse workspace

I use Eclipse 3.7 and EGit 1.0. If I create repositories inside my Eclipse workspace (as a sub-folder for a project) everything works fine. But obviously this is not recommended so I want to build a repository in a place elsewhere. But this does not work as expected.I make this steps:Create a simple Eclipse project with a text file in it (myproject).Share -> Team -> GitCreate Button -> use c:\user as Parent Directory and mygit as NameI leave Path within Repository emptyso Target Location is c:/user/mygit/myproject -> FinishAt this point I expec...Read more

egit commit lost after checkout

Using egit, I wanted to switch back to a previous version just for some minutes. So I committed my new code and checked out an earlier version. Now that I have finished looking through the older stuff, I want to go "back" to the newest, local commit from before. However, History view seems to have forgotten that I made a commit just before, going back is not possible. Also, Team->Replace with->Commit doesn't offer my latest commit. It seems like the commit was overwritten. Where did it go?...Read more

jgit - How to tune EGit for large repositories?

The problem:I find EGit great and use it intensively, but it can be incredibly slow. It can get frustrating when it takes several minutes to complete operations that the C version of git (Cgit) does in less than a couple of seconds. All operations are significantly slower than Cgit. For example switching branches will take 10's of seconds compared to near instant. A rebase can take several minutes compared to less than a couple of seconds. Some details:History size: 10114 commits as reported with: git rev-list HEAD --countCurrent Working directo...Read more

Everything except pull and push works. Is this functionality just broken?...Read more
